Middleweight champion Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis have issued statements on their UFC 296 crowd brawl. Strickland and Du Plessis got quite heated during a press conference hyping up UFC’s upcoming fights for 2024. With things getting personal between the two, it leaves one to wonder why the two were seated close to each other during UFC 296. Of course, bad things ensued and UFC COO Dana White told reporters that he blames himself for the seating assignment flub.

The highly anticipated welterweight title fight proved to be a one-sided contest. Leon Edwards was able to dominate Colby Covington on the feet and even took the former interim champion down on two occasions. ‘Chaos’ had little to no success in the opening twenty minutes, but finally found some offense in the fifth and final round. However, it was far too little, far too late, and Edwards was awarded a lopsided unanimous decision victory.

Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman is happy to finally have his story told in full. The former UFC champion has been out of action since a bout against Brad Tavares in August. For Chris Weidman, that bout ended an over two-year hiatus away from the cage. Famously, he suffered a broken leg in an April 2021 rematch against Uriah Hall. As a result, he was on the sidelines for a long time, dealing with setback after setback. Surgery, after surgery.

PFL star Jake Paul is firing shots at Dana White just hours ahead of his boxing return. ‘The Problem Child’ is currently expected to return to the ring later tonight in Orlando. Back for the first time since a unanimous decision victory over Nate Diaz in August, Jake Paul will face Andre August. The 10-1-1 pro boxer is a big underdog for the contest, but one has to figure that names such as Dana White will be cheering him on.

Chael Sonnen is slamming Ian Machado Garry over his UFC 296 withdrawal. It was to be the undefeated Garry (13-0 MMA) versus Vicente Luque (22-9 MMA) in a welterweight bout this Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Garry withdrew earlier this week citing a bout with pneumonia.
