By Evan Stoumbelis Matt “The Immortal” Brown is stepping in for fellow TUF competitorMatt Riddle to face Luis Ramos at UFC on FX 4 on June 22nd. Brown, who is coming off a decision victory to Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson at UFC 145, announced the bout over Facebook earlier today. In my opinion, Brown isn’t going to make a title run, I just can’t see him squaring off against Condit for the title. That being said, he is easily one of my favorite fighters, and his very exciting style of fighting that he has deemed “technical brawling” keeps fans on the edge of their seats. This fight on June 22nd is sure to be no different.

The past couple of days have been nothing short of amazing for combat sports fans. For mixed martial arts there was an amazing card top-to-bottom in UFC 146 where Junior dos Santos successfully defended his heavyweight title in dominant fashion against Frank Mir. On Sunday for kickboxing, K1 Uprising took place and saw returning icons like Mirko Cro Cop and Badr Hari go back to their winning ways in Spain.

Here is the much deserved salary list for the fighters from last weeks Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix. The card featured the finale to the Heavyweight tournament as Daniel Cormier took on Josh Barnett in a bloody clash that left both men cut up and bruised. In the co-main event, a lightweight title fight between champion Gilbert Melendez and Josh Thomson in a classic rubber match that will not soon be forgotten.

The co-main event on Showtime that took place last Saturday is still a highly debated topic today. Gilbert Melendez was able to defend his title in a very close fought decision victory over Josh Thomson. However in the post-fight aftermath many think the fight was another case of bad judgement by the ringside officials.

Recently, I got my hands on the new UFC Training Shoe. I needed a shoe to counteract the pain I would inflict upon myself by doing P90X on a hard surface or with my casual sneakers that have no arch in the sole. While in the market for a new shoe, I naturally gravitated toward the UFC shoe, being an MMA fan. When they arrived, I couldn’t help but first notice the packaging as it truly was focused around the UFC. A sleek box with an over-the-edge plastic sheet shaped like an Octagon and even Octagon-shaped carrying holes, just to add flare to the packaging.

Since Nick skipped the fight, nobody has heard from him, and it appears that he is hiding from the public eye, leaving coach Cesar Gracie to defend him and salvage what he can of Nick’s reputation.

However, yesterday the New York Court of Appeals ruled that viewing child pornography is no longer a criminal offense. MMA fans are left to wonder why MMA is illegal, but the viewing of child pornography is legal. The law says that viewing child pornography doesn’t qualify as possesssion of it, as long as the content isn’t downloaded.

The man is shown continuously stabbing the photo while also shouting at the photo in what is truly a bizarre video that must be seen to be appreciated. Surely, if Sonnen sees this video it will only fuel his pre game trash talk. Lets just hope that this voodoo doesn’t work and Chael remains healthy come fight time.
