Though VanZant hung in there for the duration, she was outworked by her larger foe for the majority of the fight, surrendering a unanimous decision as a result. As it turns out, however, VanZant’s lasting three rounds against Clark was pretty remarkable. According to a report from MMAFighting.com, strawweight star Paige VanZant will finally return to the cage on January 14, when the UFC touches down in St. Louis, MO. Her return will occur in the new UFC women’s flyweight division, where she is expected to battle recent UFC roster addition Jessica-Rose Clark. Though Paige VanZant was briefly linked to a flyweight bout with former bantamweight Jessica Eye, she has not fought since December, when she was submitted by former Invicta champ Michelle Waterson. This loss was preceded by a 2016 KO of the year contender over Bec Rawlings.
