Former bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo has agreed to corner Petr Yan for his upcoming rematch with Aljamain Sterling at UFC 273. The news comes shortly after it was revealed that Yan’s usual corner team was denied visas into the United States.

Petr Yan says Sean O’Malley will be his corner at UFC 273. Recently, it was reported by Russian outlet, TASS that Yan’s corner’s visas were denied by the U.S. government. With that, Yan took to social media to ask Henry Cejudo if he would corner him for his bantamweight title fight rematch against Alajmain Sterling.

UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling has reacted to reports that Petr Yan’s team have seen their visa requests denied. Next month at UFC 273, Aljamain Sterling and Petr Yan will look to finally settle the score in their rivalry when they meet for the UFC bantamweight title. Their encounter will serve as a rematch from their UFC 259 bout which, infamously, ended in a disqualification win for Sterling that saw him capture the belt.

Dominick Cruz seemingly has an idea for a return to the cage, thanks in part to Petr Yan. ‘The Dominator’ would like to face former UFC featherweight champion, Jose Aldo. In December, following Cruz’s victory over Pedro Munhoz, ‘No Mercy’ suggested that the former champion face Jose Aldo. The Brazilian moved down to 135-pounds in 2019 after a stint at featherweight that saw him claim WEC and UFC gold. Aldo is now currently riding a three-fight winning streak after losing to Yan at UFC 251.

As part of the early Q2 schedule for the UFC, Aljamain Sterling will defend his 135-pound title against Petr Yan in their highly anticipated rematch on April 9. UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling has reacted to news that Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva failed a drugs test in December. Valieva, 15, helped the ROC to glory in the team event at the Winter Olympics earlier this week. However, while the Russian Olympic Committee may have been celebrating, the medals were not formally awarded as a result of a legal issue – which has now been confirmed to be the aforementioned drug test failure.

It was Yan (16-2 MMA) vs Sterling (20-3 MMA) with ‘Funk Master’ winning by disqualification. ‘No Mercy’ was disqualified for landing an illegal knee. “I won every exchange. You clearly didn’t watch the fight.” Aljamain Sterling took to Twitter responding to fans suggesting he got “beat up”.

Aljamain Sterling has blasted TJ Dillashaw for suggesting Petr Yan will win their rematch at UFC 273. Sterling and Yan first met at UFC 259 in March of 2021 in a highly-anticipated bout. As the fight was playing out it appeared the Russian was taking over and on his way to a win, but he then threw an illegal knee and Sterling could not continue. With that, Yan was DQ’d and Sterling became the new champ.
