UFC CEO Dana White has admitted he made an error after claiming Power Slap has a larger social media following than any other professional sports team. White and the UFC enjoyed another big weekend at UFC 302 last Saturday in Newark. In the main event, UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev defeated Dustin Poirier by fifth-round submission to retain the belt.

UFC CEO Dana White has claimed that Power Slap’s videos have received more views than any Taylor Swift video ever. As we all know, Power Slap is Dana White’s big pet project. Over the course of the last few years, he’s put on a range of events as part of the Power Slap brand. It’s true to say that many of the clips have gone viral, largely because people can’t understand how and why it’s a legalized competition.

The former UFC champion and Music Star were both in attendance for yesterday’s Power Slap event at Durango Casino & Resort. At some point during the evening, Sean Strickland and Machine Gun Kelly crossed paths which led to a verbal spat between the two men.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia is the latest fighter to move to slap competitions. ‘The Maine-iac” has been out of action since a decision defeat to Ruslan Magomedov in October 2013. That defeat was the third in a row for the former UFC heavyweight champion. Prior to that loss to Magomedov, Sylvia suffered losses to Tony Johnson and Satoshi Ishii.
TBS ends Power Slap experiment after just one season

TBS has reportedly brought an end to their relationship with Dana White’s Power Slap league, as per MMA Fighting. The ‘art’ of slap fighting has been a source of controversy since day one. Many don’t enjoy it, although there are a select few who believe it holds some value within the combat sports space. Oh, and there are also plenty of concerns about the health and safety of those involved.
