With less than two weeks out from the biggest fight of his career, lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos pulled out of his scheduled bout with featherweight champion Conor McGregor with a foot injury. Dos Anjos updated everyone with his injured foot. UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos took to Twitter last night to give his take on the Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz press conference scuffle. “RDA” was rather disgusted by the current featherweight champions actions, stating that McGregor acted classless and was attempting to injure his UFC 196 opponent with the strike, his words:

Tuesday morning the MMA world awoke to news that UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos had broken his foot and would no longer be able to fight Conor McGregor in the main event of UFC 196. Ultimately the UFC selected Nate Diaz as a replacement for dos Anjos, and the bout was moved from lightweight to welterweight.

Yesterday morning UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos withdrew from his UFC 196 main event title fight against Conor McGregor due to a broken foot. The UFC ultimately replaced dos Anjos with Nate Diaz on short notice, and moved the bout from 155 pounds to 170 pounds given that Diaz was stepping in on short notice.

Tuesday morning news broke that UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos had been forced to pull out of his UFC 196 lightweight title fight with Conor McGregor on March 5th. While there was certainly no shortage of top ranked contenders offering to fight McGregor on short notice, the UFC ultimately opted to go with Nate Diaz as a fill-in opponent for McGregor.

While the UFC has been scrambling to find a replacement for dos Anjos with less than 2 weeks to go until fight night, Donald Cerrone and Anthony Pettis have already offered to step in on short notice to fight McGregor.
