Rafael dos Anjos making changes following loss to Eddie Alvarez
When Eddie Alvarez and Rafael dos Anjos stepped into the Octagon on July 7th, no one could have imagined Alvarez would pick up such an incredibly dominant TKO just minutes into the fight to claim the UFC lightweight championship.
With the UFC opting to book dos Anjos to fight Tony Ferguson rather than give him an immediate rematch with Alvarez, the former champ has made some changes behind the scenes.
He spoke on The MMA Hour:
“I learned a lot of things,” dos Anjos said. “For instance, the way people treat you. I learned from each person in my family. My wife and kids were really sad, it was a big loss for us, especially due to the way it was. At the gym, too. People treat you one way when you’re the champion and another when you’re not.”
“It was good to know what people really think,” dos Anjos added. “We can’t stop adjusting and we will let some people go in order to be champion again. Fortunately, some people will not be with me anymore.”
With the lightweight division being one of the most stacked in the UFC, do you think RDA has what it takes to reclaim his lightweight strap?
