UFC rankings updated - Georges St-Pierre near the top of the pound-for-pound mix

After nearly four years out of competition, Georges St-Pierre is back and once again a UFC champion. At UFC 217, St-Pierre beat Michael Bisping to become the new UFC middleweight champion. In doing so, GSP became just the fourth fighter in UFC history to win two UFC titles in two different weight classes following Randy Couture, BJ Penn, and Conor McGregor.

UFC Fight Night 119 took place in Sao Paulo, Brazil over the weekend. Colby Covington made a lot of noise there in Brazil after beating the most recent UFC welterweight title challenger, Demian Maia. Covington lashed out at the fans in Brazil and made some people upset, despite later explaining he is just having fun with promoting himself.
UFC Rankings updated following UFC on FOX 25 — Jon Jones continues to climb ranks ahead of title fight showdown

UFC on FOX 25 took place last weekend and the UFC has updated their rankings following their event that took place in Long Island, New York. In the main event of the evening, former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman was able to get the monkey off his back and ended his three-fight losing streak by submitting Kelvin Gastelum in the third round. With the outcome of the match, both Weidman and Gastelum did not move in the UFC middleweight rankings as they both remain at their #5 and #8 respective positions.
UFC rankings updated following UFC Fight Night 113 - The return of Jon Jones

The UFC rankings have been updated following the UFC Fight Night 113 event that took place over the weekend. Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones’ suspension is now up and has been placed back on the rankings as the #1 light heavyweight contender. Jones is set to face champion Daniel Cormier in the main event of UFC 214. Jones also was placed at #7 on the pound-for-pound rankings.
UFC rankings updated following UFC Fight Night 112 - lightweight division shaken up

The UFC rankings have been updated since UFC Fight Night 112 took place in Oklahoma City on Sunday night. In the main event of the evening, Kevin Lee scored a controversial submission win over Michael Chiesa. Referee Mario Yamasaki called an end to the fight before Chiesa tapped, perhaps thinking that Chiesa was choked unconscious. Chiesa immediately argued the stoppage and has filed an appeal to the Oklahoma State Athletic Commission to have the fight overturned to a no contest.

Last weekend, in the main event of UFC 212, interim UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway stepped onto the canvas with undisputed featherweight champion Jose Aldo in a compelling featherweight title unification fight. As many expected, it was an interesting battle from the opening bell. The fight began with Aldo efficiently navigating his Hawaiian foe’s substantial reach advantage, blasting into range to land crackling, multi-punch combos on the interim champion. This trend continued until the end of the second round. In the third, however, Aldo began to fade abruptly while Holloway simultaneously cranked up the offense. Before the third round ended, Holloway was being peeled off of his legendary foe by the referee, signalling a career-changing title win.

Last Saturday, the UFC touched down in sun-soaked Mexico City with UFC Fight Night 98. With this exciting event in the rear-view mirror, the UFC has updated their official rankings to reflect the shifts and shakeups that resulted from it. The most notable rankings change that stemmed from the UFC’s recent trip to Mexico was the upward climb of Tony Ferguson. After defeating former champion Rafael Dos Anjos in the card’s main event, he surged past undefeated contender Khabib Nurmagomedov to steal the lightweight division’s number-one spot. Only the current champion Eddie Alvarez is ranked ahead of him.
