UFC 281 adds a pair of awesome lightweight matchups including Dan Hooker vs. Claudio Puelles

Dan Hooker vs Claudio Puelles and Brad Riddell vs Renato Moicano have been added to the UFC 281 card, according to MMA Fighting. UFC 281 is set to take place on November 12 at Madison Square Garden in New York City with the main event seeing Israel Adesanya defend his UFC middleweight title against Alex Pereira. It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, then, that many of Adesanya’s teammates are set to appear on the card – including the aforementioned Dan Hooker and Brad Riddell.

Renato Moicano welcomes possible matchup with Paddy Pimblett: "If they want to give me a surprise gift, he would be very welcome"

UFC lightweight contender Renato Moicano would welcome a fight with Paddy Pimblett. The Brazilian has been out of action since his loss to Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 272 in March. The bout was a short-notice fight for Moicano, as he stepped in on just a few days’ notice. During the loss, the 33-year-old took a lot of damage, as many criticized the bout not being stopped in the championship rounds.

Renato suffered a ton of damage during the contest, with many viewers thinking the fight could’ve been stopped, but the Brazilian says he’s looking to return this summer and hopes it will be in a main event.

Michael Bisping has given his opinion on the lack of corner stoppages in MMA. ‘The Count’ was on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani to discuss a variety of topics. One that came up was last weekend’s UFC 272 bout between Rafael dos Anjos and Renato Moicano. The fight came under a lot of scrutiny stemming from the amount of punishment that the latter was taking. Both the referee and Moicano’s corner come under heavy criticism.

Renato Moicano is glad Marc Goddard didn’t stop his UFC 272 fight against Rafael dos Anjos. After the third and fourth round, many fans and even Michael Bisping on the commentary thought the fight should’ve been stopped. Moicano was down four rounds to dos Anjos and was taking unnecessary punishment but Goddard decided to allow the fight to continue which the Brazilian is thankful for.

Renato Moicano has issued a statement following his war with Rafael dos Anjos in tonight’s UFC 272 co-main event. Moicano (16-5-1 MMA) stepped on short notice to replace Rafael Fiziev against Rafael dos Anjos (31-13 MMA) in a 160lbs catchweight contest this evening.

Renato Moicano (16-4 MMA) has verbally agreed to step in on four days’ notice to fight Rafael dos Anjoys (30-13 MMA) at UFC 272 at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada this coming weekend, Saturday March 5, 2022. It was to be Rafael dos Anjoys vs Rafael Fiziev (11-1 MMA) at UFC 272 Co-main event, but Fizievs’ manager texted Ariel Helwani who confirmed the 11th-ranked lightweight was out of the bout due to testing positive for COVID-19. Rafael Fiziev then took to social media to confirm the news.

Renato Moicano eyes main event fight against Bobby Green or Brad Riddell after UFC 271 win

Renato Moicano has his eyes on two possible opponents for his next fight after submitting Alexander Hernandez at UFC 271. Moicano had success on the feet and appeared to rock Hernandez and ended up getting ahold of his back and submitting Hernandez. It was the first time Hernandez was submitted in his career and the Brazilian says he is very happy with his performance.

He will now face Jai Herbert at UFC Vegas 30.

Renato Moicano forced to withdraw from planned Magomed Mustafaev bout on Fight Island

Renato Moicano has been forced to pull out of his planned Fight Island bout against Magomed Mustafaev, Ag Fight reports. Moicano made a successful transition up to lightweight back in March when he was able to submit Damir Hadžović in just 44 seconds over in Brazil. He was initially set to square off with Mustafaev on October 17, who has won three of his five UFC bouts thus far, but it now appears as if that’s no longer happening.
