Ronda Rousey takes to social media with political post in midst of Trump’s immigration ban

Former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has not been heard or seen much since her last fight against Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 just over a month ago.

In one of her few appearances, Rousey was recently seen in a social media post with Pauline Macias, a fellow Olympic judoka, helping to deliver supplies to the Standing Rock protestors that are against the Dakota Access oil pipeline.

In the midst of President Donald Trump’s executive order to continue on the with the Dakota Access oil pipeline and the recent immigration ban, Rousey uploaded just her second social media post since her UFC 207 loss with her own political statement.

“Rowdy” posted a cartoon of the Statue of Liberty that has the 1883 New Colossus poem written by American author and poet Emma Lazarus that had someone writing in paint at the bottom of the poem with an asterisk, “OFFER MAY VARY.”

Lazarus’ poem is on a bronze plaque that is mounted on the Statue of Liberty, which Rousey posted the most famous lines in the caption of her post saying:

“The plaque at the base of the Statue of Liberty reads: ‘Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!’
#resist”

The entire New Colossus poem reads:

Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
