Ronda Rousey’s coach suspended for falsifying paperwork

At a California State Athletic Commission hearing on Tuesday afternoon Ronda Rousey’s head coach Edmond Tarverdyan was suspended for 3 months for falsifying documents.

Tarverdyan was also handed a $5,000 fine and given 3 years of probation according to MMAFighting.com, who confirmed the news with CSAC Executive Director Andy Foster.

Tarverdyan apparently responded ‘no’ to a question which asked if he had any previous criminal offenses. This however was false given that back in 2010 Tarverdyan was pulled over for driving without a front license plate, and then becoming confrontational with officers, leading them to use a taser. Tarverdyan served one day in jail and 3 years of probation in addition to 30 days of community service.

No word yet on whether or not the other commissions will honor the suspension or allow him to continue to corner his fighters.
