In the main event of UFC Vegas 33, top-15 middleweights collided as Sean Strickland took on Uriah Hall. Strickland entered the fight riding a four-fight winning streak including being 3-0 since making his return to middleweight after a motorcycle accident. He also was 17-0 at middleweight entering the fight. Hall, meanwhile, was also on a four-fight winning skid and he was looking to cement himself as a legit middleweight contender once again.

Chimaev hasn’t fought since last year when he knocked out Gerald Meerschaert in just 17 seconds due to a number of health issues. However, he is now ready to go and is set to make his return to the Octagon this fall, when he takes on top-15 ranked welterweight Li Jingliang in his comeback fight. Earlier this week, O’Malley got a tattoo of the number ’69’ on his right shoulder, and it was tattooed by the rapper 6ix9ine himself. Although 6ix9ine is a popular rapper, he is extremely controversial for his past, which includes a felony count of use of a child in a sexual performance in 2015, in which he made sexual videos of a 13-year-olf girl. Then in 2019, he agreed to a plea deal for two years in prison after agreeing to testify against the Nine Trey gang members. In August 2020, 6ix9ine was released early from his prison term, and he is now a free man, though his checkered past still continues to haunt him.

Since moving up to 185lbs, Strickland appears to be a serious contender, especially now that he is not forced to cut a ton of weight in order to make welterweight.

A middleweight bout between Uriah Hall and Sean Strickland moved from UFC 265 and is now set as the main event for an upcoming Fight Night. Hall vs. Strickland is a battle between two of the top-15 ranked middleweights on the UFC roster. The fight was expected to serve as one of the five main-card bouts on the UFC 265 pay-per-view card in August, but instead, the fight was taken off that card and has now been shifted up a week. Hall and Strickland will now meet for five rounds or less in the main event of the UFC Fight Night card on July 31, according to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani.
