The UFC’s two tallest fighters have agreed to fight in Rotterdam

Stefan Struve

The octagon will return to the Netherlands on September 2 in Rotterdam and will now likely feature a scrap between the two tallest heavyweights on the promotions roster.

Stefan Struve (28-8 MMA) and Alexander Volkov (28-6 MMA) have verbally agreed to fight at the event.

The Netherlands native, Struve, took to Twitter where he stated his interest in fighting Volkov at UFC Rotterdam, this to prove who is the most skilled tall fighter in the world.

Volkov responded to Struve’s challenge with the following tweet.

“The Skyscraper” then asked the UFC to take care of the paperwork.

Stefan Struve is currently riding a two-fight win streak and has won three of his past four fights overall.

Struve’s most recent win came over Daniel Omielańczuk via submission (D’Arce Choke) at this past October’s UFC 204 event in Manchester, England.

Prior to that, “The Skyscraper” starched Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva with 16-second knockout at UFC Fight Night 87 in Rotterdam in May of 2016.

Meanwhile, Alexander Volkov was most recently seen in action at last month’s UFC on FOX 24 event in Kansas City where he earned a lopsided decision victory over veteran Roy Nelson.

Volkov’s victory over Nelson served as his fourth in a row and second straight under the UFC banner.

The former Bellator heavyweight champion made his octagon debut at UFC Fight Night 99 in Belfast, Northern Ireland where he earned a split-decision win over Timothy Johnson.
