Stephen Thompson reflects on Tyron Woodley shutting him down on FS1

In the main event of UFC 201, Tyron Woodley left the world stunned as he knocked out Robbie Lawler in the first round of their main event scrap, winning Lawler’s welterweight championship in the process.

Stephen Thompson discusses Tyron Woodley

On the post-fight show, presumptive #1 contender Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson made his case for a fight with Woodley, pointing out that he is on a 7-fight win streak that has seen him most recently defeat Rory MacDonald.
Woodley was quick to shut Thompson down on live TV, brushing ‘Wonderboy’ off as he called for a fight with Georges St-Pierre or Nick Diaz instead.

With no word yet on who Woodley’s first opponent will be, Thompson made his case on Submission Radio:

“If I could have gone back, or if I could have gotten him in a room with closed doors, I would definitely let him know at that time, you’re crazy,” Thompson said, during a recent appearance on Submission Radio. “When you were a few months ago preaching how you deserve that fight, you deserve the fight, give it to you when you were ranked number FOUR and they still gave it to you. And now you’re doing this to me? It sounds like you’re a hypocrite, man. That’s just crazy talk. It sounds like to me you’re scared. You’re scared to fight me. Let’s do this, let’s go (laughs). I don’t know what else to say without throwing in a few cuss words.”
