Tim Kennedy returning to MMA, gunning for PED & TRT users

There has been much speculation as to whether or not top ranked UFC middleweight Tim Kennedy would ever return to the UFC. Kennedy hasn’t fought since his controversial TKO loss to Yoel Romero at UFC 178 in September of 2014.

Kennedy allegedly was sticking his fingers in Romero’s gloves at the end of the 2nd round. As the round drew to a close Kennedy rocked Romero with some hard shots. Romero went to his corner after the round ended where vaseline was applied to a cut on his face. When the horn sounded to signal the end of the rest period, Romero continued to sit on the stool, getting valuable time to recover before the start of the 3rd round. By the time Romero was up and off the stool, he bought himself nearly 30 extra seconds to recover.

During that time, a noticeably frustrated Kennedy was complaining to the referee that Romero was getting valuable time to recover. When the 3rd round started Romero went out and secured a 3rd round TKO win over Kennedy.

While Kennedy has been adamant that he wouldn’t return to the Octagon unless the opportunity is right, on a recent appearance on The MMA Hour, Kennedy revealed that he will be returning to the Octagon, and targeting PED and TRT users:

“I want to go fight every single one of them and beat the brakes off of them and kind of put a big exclamation mark that this is a new era of the sport, that the clean athletes, we’re going to smash every single one of you cheaters that have historically been making all the big money and cheating your way through it.”

Kennedy mentioned that the UFC is open to him facing the winner of this Saturday’s Vitor Belfort vs. Dan Henderson trilogy fight. In addition, Kennedy has stated previously that he would like to fight Anderson Silva. Kennedy didn’t give an exact date for when he would like to fight.

Who do you want to see Kennedy face when he returns to the Octagon?
