Tito Ortiz wants to unretire to stop Jon Jones from breaking his record

By Chris Taylor - April 29, 2013

This past Saturday night at UFC 159, UFC light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones (18-1 MMA, 12-1 UFC) tied the record of five consecutive successful light heavyweight title defenses set by Tito Ortiz back in 2002, by defeating challenger Chael Sonnen via TKO in the very first round.

Since then, the now retired former champ, Tito Ortiz, has tweeted that he would like to keep his record from being broken:

@TitoOrtiz: Well I may have to come out of retirement to beat @JonnyBones I can’t let I’m beat my record. @Punishment99 #ufc159 #UFConXboxLIVE

Tito Ortiz (16-11-1 MMA, 15-11-1 UFC) went just 1-7-1 in his final 9 octagon appearances, so the chances of unretiring into a title shot seem pretty remote.

Who would you like to see Jones face next? And if Tito were to return, who would you like to see him square off with?

Let’s hear it Penn Nation!
