Gervonta Davis on MMA fight with TJ Dillashaw: “I’d knock him out, first round”

Over the last few weeks, UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw and boxer Gervonta Davis have engaged in a number of social media skirmishes. The pair even agreed to fight each other — be it in the UFC’s Octagon or the boxing ring.

Speaking to Adam Glyn in New York City this week, Gervonta Davis discussed this potential matchup with Dillashaw. Apparently, he’s all for fighting the UFC champ, so long as it pays well.

“If he really trying to fight, I’m willing to do it,” he said. “I’m willing to switch over, make some big money.”

“I could come to MMA or he could come to boxing.”

While Gervonta Davis would be at a pretty significant disadvantage against TJ Dillashaw in an MMA bout, he says he’d be willing to do it if Dillashaw is. And, despite the threat of takedowns, kicks and submissions, he feels he’d knock Dillashaw out quickly.

“If he’s willing to fight, then yes, I’ll switch over and do MMA,” he said.

“I’d knock him out, first round. And they’ve got longer rounds [in MMA] too right? They’ve got five minutes or whatever,” he continued.

“No, [he’s got not chance]. I’m too fast, and I hit hard.”
