TJ Dillashaw says he would have been able to “justify” his use of the banned substance Erythropoietin (EPO) if he’d become a two-division UFC champ. In early 2018, Dillashaw, then the UFC bantamweight champion, dropped down to flyweight to challenge divisional champ Henry Cejudo in a bid to become a two-division titleholder. After losing the fight via first-round TKO, Dillashaw tested positive for the injectable-only banned substance EPO, and was stripped of his title and suspended two years as a result.

UFC bantamweight contender Cory Sandhagen says that he is targeting a No. 1 contender fight against former champion TJ Dillashaw. Sandhagen knocked out Marlon Moraes in October with a spinning wheel kick to once again emerge as a top contender at 135lbs. The next UFC bantamweight title fight takes place at UFC 256 in December when new champ Petr Yan defends his belt for the first time against Aljamain Sterling. But with one more, Sandhagen may find himself fighting the winner.

Former UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw appears to be in phenomenal shape ahead of his upcoming reinstatement into the Octagon in 2021. A former two-time UFC bantamweight champion, Dillashaw hasn’t fought since January 2019 when he suffered a first-round TKO loss to Henry Cejudo. Following the fight, he failed his post-fight drug test and was suspended for two years by USADA after testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs. Dillashaw is now set to return to the Octagon in January 2021 and he is expected to get a top-15 opponent in his first fight back.

Former UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw is optimistic he’ll reclaim the division’s title, but Aljamain Sterling isn’t buying it. Dillashaw reigned over the UFC bantamweight division from late 2017 to early 2019. After a loss to Henry Cejudo at flyweight, however, he tested positive for the banned substance EPO, vacated his title, and was suspended by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).

While the bantamweight division continues on, former champion TJ Dillashaw is keeping his eyes on the action. Cruz and Cejudo share one similarity, as they have both faced Dillashaw. Cejudo defeated Dillashaw in a flyweight fight last year, winning with a first-round knockout. Cruz and Dillashaw have also faced off one time against each other, with Cruz getting the win in that matchup by way of split decision.

Cejudo and Dillashaw met at UFC Brooklyn in January of 2018 where “Triple C” was looking to defend his flyweight belt against the then-bantamweight champion, T.J. Dillashaw. It was a highly-anticipated fight that ended early as Cejudo knocked Dillashaw out in just 32 seconds.

Former UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw claims the promotion told him he will get a title shot when he returns from his USADA suspension next year. Dillashaw was a dominant champion at 135lbs before dropping down to 125lbs and getting knocked out by Henry Cejudo at UFC on ESPN+ 1. Dillashaw still held the bantamweight belt at that point before it came out he had failed his USADA drug test for performance-enhancing drugs and had his title vacated. He is currently suspended until January 2021.

TJ Dillashaw appears to have put on some serious muscle mass as showcased in a recent Instagram snap. The former two-time bantamweight champion hasn’t fought since January 2019, when he was defeated at the hands of Henry Cejudo in a flyweight bout. The current champion finished him with a shocking 32 second TKO in the first round. In April, Dillashaw was handed a two-year suspension after it was revealed he tested positive for EPO use. As a result, he was stripped of his bantamweight title and has been out of action ever since.

TJ Dillashaw was fine with the doctor stopping the UFC 244 headliner between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz due to a cut. The bout was stopped after the third round due to cuts above and below Diaz’s eye. Many fans and fighters were mad the scrap was stopped.

There are many people who believe that TJ Dillashaw has handled his recent USADA suspension as well as anybody could. Cody Garbrandt is not one of those people. Dillashaw recently appeared on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show to address his failed drug test for recombinant human erythropoietin, which he used to get down to 125 pounds for his fight with Henry Cejudo at UFC on ESPN+ 1 in January.

Dillashaw was forced to relinquish his UFC Bantamweight Championship after being handed a two-year suspension as a result of him taking Erythropoietin (EPO). Dillashaw was widely condemned by the mixed martial arts community, but even with that being the case, he’s already looking ahead to the future and what he can do to improve upon returning to the Octagon.

The UFC vet believes 2021 could be the time to defeat Dillashaw and “even things out.” “The California Kid” returned from retirement with a swift and successful defeat against Ricky Simon in July. Faber believes his extensive track record is enough to earn him a title shot against Henry Cejudo, but a battle against his former training partner could also be in the cards.

During the suspension, he has undergone shoulder surgery on both shoulders and has been healing nagging injuries he has been dealing with. The former UFC bantamweight champion also has started a new business, so the time off has been productive.

Dillashaw (16-4 MMA), who was handed a 2-year ban for his use of EPO following his loss to Henry Cejudo in January, has gone under the knife on two occasions in recent months, this to repair his two blown out shoulders.

Former UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt is maintaining that he knew his arch rival TJ Dillashaw was using banned substances. The surprise, Garbrandt says, was not that Dillashaw tested positive, but that it took so long for him to get caught. Garbrandt believes that Dillashaw was able to evade detection because the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) doesn’t adequately test for EPO, the substance he was using.
