TJ Dillashaw relocates to a new gym for training camp
TJ Dillashaw began his fighting career at Urijah Faber’s Team Alpha Male in Sacramento, California. Eventually, however, he left this camp, following coach Duane Ludwig to Colorado, where he set up camp at Elevation MMA. This move caused a massive rift between himself and his former Team Alpha Male stablemates, and resulted in his headline-dominating beef with reigning bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt.
It appears, however, that Garbrandt has returned to California. According to an Instagram post from Rafael Cordeiro, Dillashaw has settled at Kings MMA, where he will be doing his training camp for his next fight.
At Kings MMA, which is based in Huntington Beach, California, Dillashaw will sharpen his tools in the company of monsters like Mark Munoz, Fabricio Werdum, Kelvin Gastelum, Marvin Vettori, and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.
Though Dillashaw says in the video above that he’s training for a world title fight, and that he’ll be training for that fight at Kings MMA, it is not actually known which world title he’ll be fighting for.
The original plan was for him to challenge Garbrandt for bantamweight gold at UFC 213 this July 8. Unfortunately, Garbrandt was forced out of this fight with a back injury, which put this much discussed grudge match on ice.
In the wake of this development, Dillashaw began angling for a title fight with flyweight champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson – and the UFC seemed to be into this plan.
Since then, however, Garbrandt has suggested he could be ready to get in there with Dillashaw quite soon, which may keep Dillashaw at bantamweight after all.
Do you think TJ Dillashaw can win UFC gold again?
