Former UFC lightweight kingpin Khabib Nurmagomedov has had enough of Tony Ferguson and his accusations. Nurmagomedov (29-0 MMA) and Ferguson (25-6 MMA) of course have a long a storied rivalry. The lightweight standouts were slated to meet on multiple occasions inside of the Octagon, however none of those contests ever came to fruition due to a variety of reasons.

The opening betting odds have been released for potential fights between Conor McGregor vs. Tony Ferguson and Nate Diaz vs. Tony Ferguson. Over the past week, we have seen Ferguson call out McGregor and then Diaz call out Ferguson. They are three of the biggest names in the sport and there has been plenty of fan interest regarding these potential matchups ever since they were discussed. Although there is no evidence to suggest that the UFC will be booking either fight next, that hasn’t stopped the sportsbooks from opening up the betting odds for these two future fights. UFC welterweight contender Nate Diaz conveyed his interest in fighting Tony Ferguson by sharing a photo of him on his social media. Ferguson this week conveyed his own interest in fighting the UFC superstar Conor McGregor, but it appears as though Diaz wants in on the action instead. Diaz has made it clear over the last few months that he wants to get back into the Octagon very soon after his decision loss to Leon Edwards back in June at UFC 263. Diaz has been connected to a welterweight contest against Vicente Luque in recent weeks but the fight has not been booked yet. With the Luque fight not getting done, it appears as though Diaz could be ready to move on and fight someone else, and that potentially could be against Ferguson.

The result was an eighth straight victory for the Russian standout, who submitted Thiago with a rear-naked choke midway through the fourth of their fight.

In addition, a TUF coaches battle between UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski and Brian Ortega is also expected to take place on the card. Hooker, a longtime teammate of Volkanovski at City Kickboxing, is hoping to fight at UFC 266 and he recently said that he wants to fight Diaz. Now he is also adding Ferguson to his list of potential opponents.

Daniel Cormier weighed in on Tony Ferguson’s future following his last loss, saying “Ferguson, as a top-level mixed martial artist, is done.” Ferguson is coming off of a lopsided loss to Beneil Dariush at UFC 262 this past weekend, his third straight loss following a unanimous decision defeat to Charles Oliveira in his last fight and a TKO defeat to Justin Gaethje before that. While Ferguson had a 12-fight winning streak heading into 2020, he has since gone 0-3 and has lost his last 11 rounds in a row. It feels like Ferguson has really lost a step, and there are some suggestions he might be completely done. Cormier is one of those who believes that he has nothing left.

UFC lightweight contender Beneil Dariush says that he heard Tony Ferguson’s knee pop during a near submission attempt at UFC 262. Dariush was able to control Ferguson with his wrestling for the majority of the 15 minutes of the UFC 262 co-main event, but at one point in the second round, he was able to get Ferguson’s leg and attempt a nasty heel hook. Dariush wasn’t able to coax the tap from Ferguson, but according to “Benny,” he heard Ferguson’s knee pop during the squeeze.

The UFC was back in front of a full capacity crowd on Saturday night in Houston, Texas for UFC 262. The card saw the vacant lightweight title up for grabs as Charles Oliveira took on Michael Chandler. Tony Ferguson also took on Beneil Dariush in a pivotal co-main event. The event, despite losing some big fights, ended up delivering as Oliveira rallied after being dropped in the first to TKO Chandler in the second to become the new champ. Dariush, meanwhile, used his grappling to dominate Ferguson and win a clear-cut 30-27.
