Last night, on the final fight of the UFC 213 undercard, Travis Browne attempted to correct a three-fight losing streak against the dangerous Alexey Oleinik. Though Browne had a few moments of success early on, this fight ultimately turned out disastrously for him, as he was stopped by a second-round rear-naked choke. With this outcome, Browne falls onto a four-fight skid, having recently been defeated by Cain Velasquez, Fabricio Werdum, Derrick Lewis and Oleinik. This unfortunate skid has led many fans and pundits to speculate that it might be time for the towering Hawaiian heavyweight to hang up the gloves.

Prior to the couple going on their vacation however, the pair’s house in Venice, California was robbed by local skateboarders, who were caught on camera. Heading into his UFC 213 bout with Oleksiy Oliynyk, Travis Browne has been training with former UFC heavyweight champion Josh Barnett – a man he knocked out back in late 2013 with a series of hellacious elbows. In order to begin training with Barnett, Browne first had to squash his beef with the former champion. This beef stemmed from the fact that Browne stole Barnett’s post-fight celebration – a throat slashing gesture – moments after he knocked him out.

Last weekend, in the main event of the UFC’s latest trip to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Derrick Lewis scored a thunderous, second-round knockout over the ever-dangerous Travis Browne. With this win, which is arguably the biggest of his career, Lewis extended his win-streak to six, and established himself as a bona fide heavyweight contender. Unfortunately, Lewis’ fight with Browne also produced a small bit of controversy, as referee Mario Yamasaki was quite late in stopping the fight, which gave Lewis time to hit Browne with a few extra sledgehammers.
