Former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum scored a unanimous decision victory over Travis Browne in the co-main event of last night’s UFC 203 fight card in Cleveland, Ohio. (See the highlights here).

Travis Browne vs. Fabricio Werdum

During the fight Browne landed an accidental eye poke on the Brazilian submission specialist and as you can see in the photo below it was especially brutal:

Amazingly, Werdum was not seriously injured from the poke and was thus able to continue fighting and eventually outpointing his Hawaiian opponent.

The victory marked the second time that Werdum has defeated Browne via decision. The Brazilian had previously defeated “Hapa” in the main event of UFC on FOX 11 in April of 2014.

Following the contest, Browne’s coach Edmund Tarverdyan was seen screaming at Werdum while the fighters awaited the announcement of the judges decision. Fabricio did not take well to Edmund’s comments and decided to front kick the coach which caused all hell to break loose inside the octagon.

According to reports, Werdum will not be penalized for his post-fight actions.

The former UFC heavyweight champion, Werdum, is hopeful that he will get a rematch with Stipe Miocic in his next octagon appearance. Do you think Werdum should receive the next title shot, or does the Brazilian submission specialist still have more work to do? Sound off PENN Nation!
