Darren Till says he saw doubt in Tyron Woodley’s eyes, Woodley fires back

On Friday afternoon, UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley had his first staredown with Darren Till, who he will battle in the main event of UFC 228 on September 8.

Shortly after this tense staredown, Darren Till claimed that he saw a shred of doubt in the champion’s eyes. Not fear, but doubt.

“I didn’t see no fear in his eyes, but I just sensed a little bit of doubt,” Till told the media after the Friday press conference (via BloodyElbow). “I work off a lot of energy, and I just sensed a little bit of doubt that he didn’t want to be at that press conference, he didn’t want to be there fighting me in particular. That’s what I felt. No fear, for sure, just a tiny bit of doubt.”

Unsurprisingly, the champ Tyron Woodley disagreed with these comments from Till. He fired back at his coming upcoming title challenger in the buildup to UFC 227:

“He didn’t see a fucking look of doubt, and he knows that,” Woodley said in response to Till’s comments (via BloodyElbow). “He didn’t see no doubt in my eyes and I didn’t see no doubt in his eyes, and that’s OK. He shouldn’t have any doubt. He should believe he can beat me. He should believe he’s the best in the world, otherwise you’re in the wrong business.

“He saw zero doubt and he knows that.”
