Tyron Woodley reveals which fighter would “definitley” give him his “hardest fight”

Current UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley has faced a ton of tough challenges during his storied mixed martial arts career.

For instance, “The Chosen One” was last seen in action at August’s UFC 214 event where he scored a lopsided decision victory over feared submission specialist Demian Maia.

Prior to his win over Maia, Woodley was able to outpoint arguably the greatest strike in mixed martial arts today Stephen Thompson in the main event of UFC 209.

After scoring victories over both “the best striker” and “best submission practitioner” in the UFC’s stacked welterweight division, “T-Wood” was asked during a recent Instagram live stream who would now be his toughest opponent.

Woodley responded by name dropping an undefeated lightweight fighter from Russia… Can you guess who?

“If I had fought Khabib (Nurmagomedov), he would definitely be my hardest fight,” Woodley said (via BloodyElbow). “He has a relentless amount of pressure, crazy ground and pound, heavy hands, good chin and is very very persistent.”

While Tyron Woodley has no problem acknowledging that “The Eagle” would probably present his toughest challenge fighting in the UFC, he obviously still believes he could beat him.

“I think I can beat anybody though, but if I had to compete against him, Khabib would probably be my toughest fight in the UFC.”

The undefeated Russianm Nurmagomedov, will square off with Tony Ferguson for the UFC lightweight title in the headliner of next weekend’s UFC 223 pay-per-view event in Brooklyn.

Khabib Nurmagomedov has gone a perfect 25-0 in his mixed martial arts career, his latest victory coming over Edson Barboza at December’s UFC 219 event in Las Vegas.

Prior to defeating Barboza in Sin City, “The Eagle” absolutely mauled Michael Johnson at UFC 205 in New York.

Who do you think would win in a super fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tyron Woodley? Sound off PENN Nation!
