Tyron Woodley became the UFC’s undisputed welterweight champion at UFC 201 in Atlanta by scoring a first-round knockout win over Robbie Lawler.

Since then there has been much debate as to who Woodley should be fighting in his first title defense.

UFC president Dana White has stated that number one contender Stephen Thompson would be the first man to challenge Woodley for the belt, but “The Chosen One” says he has not signed any contract to fight “Wonderboy” and really has no interest in that fight at this time.

Tyron Woodley was asked to address the fact that fans are saying that he is ‘ducking’ Thompson during an interview the “Morning Wood w/ Deez Nuts” podcast:

“Stevey Wonder Woman Thompson specifically said that I was not going to win the fight (with Lawler). And he said that he thought the fans would rather watch him and Robbie fight because it was the more exciting fight. He said that I didn’t deserve it (the title shot) that I had been waiting on it while you’ve been active. You also went even further to say that I fade in later rounds and that Robbie comes on stronger in those rounds and that you just couldn’t see me getting it done so you looked forward to fighting Robbie. Well, your mouth wrote a check that your ass couldn’t cash so now you can go and fight Robbie!”
