“Let me say this in a very educated way… I think that those two guys [Georges St-Pierre and Nate Diaz] contemplating fighting is the hugest bitch move on the planet.

If you’re going to be the welterweight champion of the world and the lineal champion and you got the current champion constantly talkin’ about fighting you, not only do you avoid fighting him and go up a weight class, now you gonna drop underneath him and fight underneath in a weight class that you’ve never fought in in your life.

Nate Diaz, I was gonna fight him without even having shoulder surgery [back in December]. So the question mark to me is…are you fans really gonna keep riding with these guys that claim they’ll fight anybody, anytime and they’re constantly avoiding me.”

UFC welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley has been watching the MMA world from the sidelines since July 2017 when he last defended his title against Demian Maia at UFC 214.

Now recovered from shoulder surgery, he’s ready to get back in the Octagon and doesn’t care who it’s against as he continued on.

“I am not waiting on the boo-boo belt, I’m not waiting on somebody else to be ready, I’m not going to be in shape and be prepared to step in, I’m the champion of the world. They’re supposed to be ready to fight me.

I want to fight in July, I want to fight in August if those guys are ready.”

The obvious choice for Woodley’s next challenger is the winner of the interim title fight between Colby Covington and former UFC lightweight champion, Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 225 on June 9th.

July or August would clearly be a very quick turnaround for the winner of that fight especially a title fight. So whether or not the winner will be Woodley’s next fight remains to be determined. As we know, in this day and age of the UFC, anyone can fight anyone.
