UFC 210 odds update: Cormier and ‘Rumble’ dead-even heading into fight week
This Saturday, the UFC will touch down in Buffalo, New York with UFC 210.
In the main event of the UFC’s anticipated Buffalo debut, light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier will attempt to defend his throne opposite torpedo-fisted challenger Anthony “Rumble” Johnson. This bout will mark a rematch of a fun 2014 scrap, which saw Cormier weather an early storm to lock up a rear-naked choke for the win.
UFC 210’s co-main event, meanwhile, will see former middleweight champion Chris Weidman attempt to rebound from a two-fight losing streak opposite long-time contender Gegard Mousasi.
Both of these fights are likely to be extremely competitive – at least, that’s what the betting odds are suggesting. Heading into fight week, Cormier and Rumble are neck-and-neck, while Mousasi is a very slight favorite to defeat the former champ Weidman.
5dimes has pegged both Cormier and Johnson at -110, which means it would take a successful $110 bet on either man to win $100. The razor close line for this fight can be attributed to the respective dominance of both men, as well as the competitive nature of their first fight.
Mousasi has been identified as a -135 favorite, which means it would take a successful bet of $135 on him to earn $100. Weidman, meanwhile, is sitting at +115, which means a successful bet of $100 on him would earn you $115. Weidman’s underdog status can probably be stacked up to the fact that he has been stopped on strikes in his last two fights, in combination with Mousasi’s dangerous striking skill.
Elsewhere on the main card, Cynthia Calvillo is a -260 favorite to defeat Pearl Gonzales (+220), Patrick Cote is a slight -160 favorite to beat Thiago Alves (+140), and former Bellator champ Will Brooks is a sizeable -265 favorite to take out Charles Oliveira (+225).
What do you think of the odds for UFC 210? Are any underdogs being slept on? Sound off, PENN Nation!
