A welterweight title fight served as the co-main event of tonight’s UFC 214 fight card in Anaheim as current champ Tyron Woodley took on top contender Demian Maia. Round one begins and Maia starts off with immediate pressure. He shoots in and tries to secure a takedown. Woodley is able to shake him off. Woodley lands an uppercut. Maia shoots in for another takedown attempt. He grabs a hold of a leg. Woodley is doing a good job of defending. Maia pulls out and we are back to standing. Woodley with a nice right hand. Maia presses forward. Once again he shoots in. Woodley grabs the fence and is able to stay standing. Maia shoots in again. He grabs a foot but Woodley escapes. Tyron with a right hand. Maia presses forward with a left. Woodley circles and takes the center of the octagon. He throws a right hand. Maia avoids. Demian with some pressure now. Woodley explodes forward with a right hand. Maia shoots in for a takedown. He cannot secure the shot. Woodley circles out. He comes in and throws a right hand that misses. Twenty seconds remain. Woodley circles. Round one comes to an end.

A women’s featherweight title fight took place on tonight’s UFC 214 main card as top contender Cris Cyborg took on Tonya Evinger for the promotions vacant title. Round one begins and Cyborg presses forward and throws a left. Another left from Justino appears to rock Evinger. Cyborg rushes in with a combination. Evinger eats the blows and pulls guard. Cyborg stands up and motions Evinger to do the same. Cyborg immediately presses forward. She lands a couple of right hands and then a knee. Evinger circles out. Cyborg catches her with a hard low kick. Cristiane presses forward. Evinger ducks under a strike and shoots in for a takedown. She presses Cyborg against the fence. She scores the takedown but Cris is back up. Evinger still stays on her and scores a nice trip takedown. Cris shoots back up to her feet and lands a hard knee. Evinger circles out. She appears to accidently poke Cyborg in the eye. We break as the referee gives Cris time to recover. We restart after a long break and Cyborg quickly presses forward with an inside leg kick. Tonya fires a leg kick off of her own. They fighters clinch a Cris lands a knee. Evinger attempts to press the fight against the cage. Cris misses with a takedown. Tonya circles off the fence. Cyborg with a combination. She lands a knee and then another set of shots. Tonya circles out but eats another right hand. Cris with a follow up knee and the horn sounds to end round one.

A key welterweight scrap between former division champion Robbie Lawler and perennial contender Donald Cerrone took place during tonight’s UFC 214 main card from Anaheim, California. Round one begins and Lawler comes out flying he lands a big left followed by a bunch of knees. Big shots from Lawler. He lands a right hand. Cerrone retreats. Lawler steps in and engages Donald in the clinch. Cerrone lands a good knee. Lawler presses Donald against the fence. He lands a some big shots. Uppercuts now from Laweler. Cerrone with a nice elbow. Lawler fires back with some left hands. Both me exchange knees in the clinch. They break and Lawler presses forward. Once again the clinch. Robbie presses Donald against the cage. He lands some shot but Cerrone shakes free. Donald with a high kick. It’s blocked and Lawler lands a huge knee. He goes for a left it is not there. Another kick from Lawler. Cerrone appears to be hurt. He shoots in and scores a takedown. Cerrone eventually moves to half guard. Cerrone moves to side control and then takes north south position. One minute remains. Cerrone works in some knees. Lawler scrambles and gets back to his feet. Cerrone connects with a punch. Lawler fires off a kick to the body. Cerrone goes high and rocks Lawler with a kick. Lawler circles out and the horn sounds to end round one.

A key light heavyweight bout between surging contenders Jimi Manuwa and Volkan Oezdemir kicked off tonight’s UFC 214 pay-per-view main card in Anaheim, California. Round one begins and Oezdemir lands a hard leg kick. The fighters clinch and Manuwa lands a knee. He presses Volkan against the cage. Oezdemir comes forward and lands a hard right. Manuwa is hurt. More shots from Oezdemir. Manuwa retreats but Volkan lands a left hand that drops him. Hammer fists from Volkan and this one is all over.

A 140-pound catchweight bout between former bantamweight champion Renan Barao and Aljamain Sterling took place during tonight’s UFC 214 prelims from Anaheim, California. Round one begins and Barao opens up with a body kick. Sterling responds with one of his own. Barao leaps in with a left hand and then a leg kick. Sterling presses forward and just misses getting caught with a spinning head kick from Renabn. Barao with a leg kick. Sterling returns fires with one to the body. Barao trips Sterling and winds up on top. Sterling immediately rolls for a leg lock. He sinks it in but Barao catches him with a good shot. Another good punch from Barao and he takes top position. The Brazilian quickly passes to half guard but Aljamain scrambles back to full guard. Barao with a left hand. He moves to half guard and lands an elbow. Renan with a some knees to the body. Sterling scrambes back with full guard. He attempts a sweep but Barao says no. Sterling looks to lock up a triangle but Barao postures up and rains down left. The horn sounds to end round one.

A featherweight scrap between Renato Moicano and Brian Ortega took place on tonight’s UFC 214 prelims in Anaheim, California. Round one begins and Ortega misses with an early left jab attempt. Moicano with a leg kick. Ortega comes forward but eats a combination from Renato. Ortega with a nice right hand in response. Renato comes forward again and fires off another combination that culminates with a right hand. Ortega circles and then presses forward. Moicano fakes with a takedown but Brian catches him with a right hand. Ortega pushes forward but ends up poking Renato in the eye. We break briefly and then Renato lands a high kick. Ortega presses forward but eats a left hand. Brian with a leg kick but Moicano catches it and presses him against the cage. Renato with a nice body kick. He circles out and then lands a nice combo as Brian is coming in. Ortega presses forward and lands an overhand right. Renato land s a nice counter right hand of his own. Both men are trading in the pocket now. Renato lands a good uppercut followed by a right hand over the top. He goes to the body with a kick. Another nice combo from Renato. Brian leaps in with a flying knee. Round one comes to an end.

A scrap between Andre Fili and Calvin Kattar kicked off tonight’s UFC 214 televised prelims from Anaheim, California. Round one begins and Fili presses forward pumping a left jab. Kattar swings and misses with a wild right. More pressure from Fili now. He throws a left jab that connects. He lands a body kick but Calvin replies with a counter right hand. Kattar with a stiff left jab now. Andre circles and then lands a nice right hand of his own. Fili tries to go upstairs with a head kick but it is blocked by Calvin. Kattar circles and then comes forward with a left jab. Fili replies with a left jab and then a low kick. Kattar replies with a good right hand to the body. Fili circles and then misses with an attempted body kick. Kattar responds with a good left and then a body kick. Fili immediately fires back with a nice combination and then a low kick. Fili continues to pressure but gets caught with a counter left hand from Kattar. Fili with a good punch. He circles and then lands a right low kick. Kattar takes the center of the octagon and then throws a kick to the body. Fili shoots in but Kattar stuffs it. Calvin with a nice uppercut. He shoots in and scores takedown. Nice shots from the top by Kattar. Round one comes to an end.

Saturday night, the UFC will host the highly anticipated UFC 214 card. While the main card will air on pay-per view as usual, the preliminary card will not be aired on Fox Sports 1 as fight fans have become accustomed to. Instead, the preliminary card will air on FXX, a channel fight fans may not be as familiar with.

Friday morning in Anaheim, California, the fighters of UFC 214 hit the scales ahead of their highly anticipated showdowns on Saturday night. Thankfully, all championship fighters hit their marks for the event, and all three title fights are now official for Saturday July 29th. In the main event, Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier will step into the Octagon for a highly anticipated showdown that will see Cormier look to avenge his rather one-sided 2015 loss to Jones. On the flip-side, Jones will be looking to return to the Octagon after nearly a year and a half away, and reclaim the title he never lost inside the Octagon.

Friday morning, both UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and former UFC light heavyweight kingpin Jon Jones hit the scales ahead of their UFC 214 showdown tomorrow night in Anaheim, California. Ahead of the fight, there were speculations as to how the champ’s weight cut was going after he came in 1.2 pounds overweight for his previous fight agains Anthony Johnson, infamously pressing down on the privacy towel to offset his weight in order to make weight without cutting more weight.

This Saturday, the UFC will host a trio of title fights from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California as the light heavyweight title, the welterweight title, and the women’s featherweight title are all put on the line. In the main event, UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier puts his light heavyweight title on the line against former light heavyweight kingpin Jon Jones in a highly anticipated rematch several years in the making. The fight, which has been scheduled and rescheduled several times in the past, is finally taking place this Saturday.

Originally, last night’s UFC 213 was supposed to be the biggest card of the year thus far. Thanks to an unfortunate series of events, however, that title now belongs firmly to UFC 214, which goes down on July 29 in Anaheim California. This card will feature a whopping three title fights. The first will go down at featherweight, where Cris “Cyborg” Justino will collide with Tonya Evinger for the vacant throne. The second will occur at welterweight, where champ Tyron Woodley will attempt to defend his title against crafty grappling whiz Demian. The third, and biggest by a mile, will occur at light heavyweight, where champion Daniel Cormier will take on his fiercest rival – and the only man he’s lost to – Jon Jones.

Earlier this month, we learned that “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung had been forced out of his UFC 214 scrap with Ricardo Lamas with a long list of severe injuries that will keep him out of training for something in the area of six months. Though he has since been replaced by red hot prospect Jason Knight, this was an undeniably disappointing twist for the UFC 214 card all the same. Now, the bad news continues. According to Robin Black, who actually also broke the news of The Korean Zombie’s withdrawal, another high profile fighter has been forced off the UFC 214 bill. That fighter happens to be the card’s other Korean featherweight, “The Korean Superboy” Doo Ho Choi.
