Multiple champions are requesting to get a spot on November’s UFC 217 event

The octagon will return to Madison Square Garden on November 4 for UFC 217.

The card is expected to showcase multiple championship fights including a middleweight title fight between current champ Michael Bisping and former welterweight kingpin Georges St-Pierre.

While the UFC has not officially announced the Bisping vs. St-Pierre fight as official for UFC 217, “The Count” recently stated that his bout with “GSP” was set for November 4 during FS1’s “UFC Tonight” broadcast.

“This is actually the third time I’ve been offered this fight, so the ship’s sailed twice. On this occasion, on the third occasion, it set off sailing but did a U-turn and it pulled up at New York City. I’ve got a chirpy little Englishman who’s going to fight Georges St-Pierre, Madison Square Garden, Nov. 4. It is official. Do not miss it. We’re taking over.”

In addition to Bisping and St-Pierre, many other current UFC champions and top contenders have been busy lobbying for spots on the UFC 217 pay-per-view card via social media.

Current UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway is hoping to receive a spot on the November 4 card against top division contender and New York native Frankie Edgar.

Current UFC bantamweight champion Cody Gardbradnt has also voiced his desire to return at the November 4 event, where he would square off with former teammate and bitter rival TJ Dillashaw.

If that wasn’t enough, top UFC lightweight contenders Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov want to fight for the UFC interim 155-pound title under the bright lights of Madison Square Garden on November 4.

Finally, UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jędrzejczyk has made it very clear that she wants on the UFC 217 card so that she can defend her title against Rose Namajunas.

They also say it hasn't been offered yet. @joannamma, I'm told, says no other card is an option. MSG is the only card she wants to fight on.

The likelihood that all five of the title fights listed above will occur on November 4 in New York is slim to none. Even four title fights would seem like a stretch for the worlds largest mixed martial arts promotion.
