UFC 222 Results: Brian Ortega KO’s Frankie Edgar

A key featherweight bout between top division contenders Frankie Edgar and Brian Ortega served as the co-main event of tonight’s UFC 222 fight card in Las Vegas.

Round one begins and Edgar comes out quickly. Ortega keeps him at bay by pumping his jab. Edgar with a low kick. He circles out and then rushes in with a combination. Ortega avoids any significant strikes and then lands a pair of jabs. Edgar fires back with an inside low kick. Brian looks very calm. Edgar goes high with a kick but it is blocked. Frankie with a nice right hand over the top. Ortega leaps in with a left hand but Edgar counters him beautifully. Brian circles out and then takes the center of the octagon. Ortega with a leaping left hook that misses. Frankie rushes in with a combination. Ortega avoids and then lands a low kick. Edgar responds with a combination. He follows that up with a right hand over the top. Ortega with a left hand and then a right. Frankie is hurt. Ortega with a huge uppercut that floor Frankie. This one is all over! WOW!
