BJPENN.com’s Tom Taylor first reported the clash of heavyweights back in February.

The Alistair Overeem vs. Curtis Blaydes fight was initially slated to take place on the UFC 225 main card which airs on pay-per-view.

However, news broke during tonight’s UFC Chile broadcast that the Overeem vs. Blaydes fight will now serve as the featured bout of the UFC 225 prelims on FS1.

The change was made to make room on the main card for a key women’s featherweight fight featuring former women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm taking on former Invicta FC Champion Megan Anderson.

UFC 225 is headlined by a middleweight title fight rematch featuring current champion Robert Whittaker taking on top contender Yoel Romero.

In the co-main event of the evening, former UFC lightweight title holder Rafael dos Anjos will take on Colby Covington for the promotion interim welterweight championship.
