UFC 226 Results: Paulo Costa KO’s Uriah Hall (VIDEO)

A middleweight fight between dangerous strikers Paulo Costa and Uriah Hall headlined tonight’s UFC 226 prelims on FS1.

Paul Costa entered tonight’s contest sporting a perfect 11-0 record, his latest being a second-round TKO victory over former welterweight champ Johny Hendricks at UFC 217.

Meanwhile, Uriah Hall was most recently seen in action last September where he scored a second-round TKO victory over Krzysztof Jotko.

Round one begins and Costa throws a jab to the body of Hall followed by a low kick. Paulo with a kick to the body now. Uriah responds with a left jab. Another jab from Hall. He would be wise to use his distance here. Hall with a spinning kick to the body. Costa comes forward with a body kick. Hall connects with a crisp left jab on the counter. Both men with left jabs now. Another jab from Hall. Paulo returns fire with a body kick. More jabs from Hall. Costa comes forward and lands another body kick. He follows that up with a right hand. Hall circles out but eats a body kick for his efforts. Uriah with a nice jab. Costa with a kick that lands to the groin of Hall. The referee steps in and we break. Hall recovers and we restart. Costa comes forward with a powerful left hand that misses. Hall lands a jumping spinning back kick to the body of Paulo. Uriah with more left jabs now. He is landing that shot at will now. Costa with a kick to the body. He comes in with a flurry that ends in a body shot. He is in attack mode now. He grabs the clinch and begins working some knees. More hard shots to the body from Costa. Hall finally circles off the fence. Costa presses forward with some big bombs. He lands a right hand that connects. A big leg kick now. Hall fires off a jab but takes one to the body. Another low blow lands from Costa and the referee is once again forced to step in. We restart and Paulo comes forward with a body kick. The horn sounds to end round one.

Round two begins and Costa lands another hard body kick. Hall with a jab followed by a low kick. Costa leaps in with jab and then a combination. Hall circles along the fence. He runs into a right hand and then circles in the other direction. Uriah with a kick to the body and then he shoots in and lands a takedown. Costa gets right back up to his feet and lands a hard shot to the body of Hall. Uriah with a big right hand while Costa was coming forward. That wobbles Paulo. Hall comes forward with a jab but Costa comes right back with a kick to the body. Paul with a flurry now he lands a big jab and then a monster left hand. More punches from Costa. Hall swings back but misses the mark. Another shot from Costa and Hall is down. This one is all over.
