UFC 227 Results: Renato Moicano submits Cub Swanson (VIDEO)

A featherweight fight between Cub Swanson and Renato Moicano took place on tonight’s UFC 227 main card from Los Angeles, California.

Cub Swanson entered tonight’s contest on a two-fight losing skid, with those setbacks coming to Frankie Edgar and Brian Ortega respectively. Prior to that, Swanson had put together a four-fight win streak which included victories over Artem Lobov, Hacran Dias and Doo Ho Choi.

Meanwhile, Renato Moicano entered tonight’s fight sporting an overall record of 12-1-1.

Round one begins and Cub lands a low kick to get things started. He throws a jab but eats a kick to the ribs from Renato. Another good low kick from Cub. He circles left and throws a hook. Moicano with a jab. He goes upstairs with a high kick. Both men throw punches. Moicano lands a jab. Cub leaps forward with a high kick which is blocked. Another low kick from Swanson. Moicano returns fire with two hard kicks of his own. Swanson throws a right hand with bad intentions but misses the mark. Moicano lands a knee followed by a jab. Swanson returns fire with a right. He steps back and then lands a low kick. Moicano circles along the fence and then lands a stiff jab that drops Swanson. Moicano jumps on him and begins raining down shots. Cub scrambles back up to his feet but Renato is all over him. Moicano with a knee against the cage and then he lands a takedown. He immediately passes to half guard. Swanson is attempting to scramble but Moicano takes his back. He locks in a rear-naked choke and Swanson is forced to tapout.
