Dennis Bermudez and Eddie Wineland comment on controversial UFC Boise decision losses

By Tom Taylor - July 16, 2018

UFC Boise produced some pretty memorable moments, from Niko Price’s insane knockout of Randy Brown, to Cat Zingano’s emotional defeat of Marion Reneau, to Chad Mendes’ successful return to action. Unfortunately, the card also produced a few unsavory moments in the form of some questionable judging.

There were three decisions on the UFC Boise card in particular that many fans seemed to disagree with. The first saw Said Nurmagomedov defeat Justin Scoggins via split decision. The second saw Alejandro Pérez defeat Eddie Wineland via unanimous decision. The third saw Rick Glenn defeat Dennis Bermudez via split decision. While there are certainly plenty of fans who feel the judges scored these fights properly, others feel the judges were way off.

While Scoggins has yet to comment on his controversial UFC Boise loss to Nurmagomedov, Wineland and Bermudez have both issued statements on their debatable decision losses.

Of the two, Wineland took a more nonchalant stance.

“Tho I don’t agree with the call that was made Saturday night I won’t throw a fit and will leave it in the rear view and continue to put one foot in front of the other,” Wineland said in a classy post-fight Tweet.

Bermudez, meanwhile, admitted he felt as though he’d been “f**ked” by the judges.

“Who ever judged my fight tonight, you could at least buy me a couple of drinks before you fuck me like that,” Bermudez said in his Tweet on the controversial UFC Boise judging.
