UFC Calgary weigh-in results: Eddie Alvarez, Dustin Poirier hit marks for main event

By Tom Taylor - July 27, 2018

Tomorrow night, the UFC will make its long awaited return to Calgary, Alberta, Canada with a fantastic looking UFC Calgary fight card.

Eddie Alvarez, Dustin Poirier

This long awaited UFC Calgary card will be headlined by a similarly anticipated rematch between Eddie Alvarez and Dustin Poirier. The pair first met in May of 2017, in a wild bout that regrettably ended as no contest after Alvarez landed an inadvertent illegal knee and Poirier was unable to continue.

The UFC Calgary co-main event, meanwhile, will see former UFC featherweight champion and consensus featherweight GOAT Jose Aldo compete in his first non-title UFC bout opposite the brick-fisted Jeremy Stephens.

The rest of the main card, finally, will be rounded out by a women’s strawweight bout, as former champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk looks to get back on with a win over Tecia Torres, and a lightweight bout, as Olivier Aubin-Mercier and Alex Hernandez look to establish themselves as bona fide contenders in the division.

On Friday morning, the many fighters on the UFC Calgary bill took to the scale to weigh in for their respective battles. In a remarkably rare occurrence, every fight on the bill made weight. That’s right, not a single fighter missed their mark.
