UFC Halifax Results: Johny Hendricks vs. Hector Lombard

A middleweight bout between former UFC welterweight champion Johny Hendricks and former Bellator champ Hector Lombard served as the co-main event of tonight’s UFC Fight Night 105 card in Halifax.

Round one begins and Hendricks lands a leg kick to start. He lands another this time inside. Hector comes forward and lands a left. He continues forward and lands a right jab followed by a left. Johny swings and misses with a big left. Lombard with a big left. Hendricks lands a kick but Hector catches it. He presses Johny against the fence. They break and both men land lefts. Lombard grabs a hold of Johny but Hendricks shakes him off. ‘Bigg Rigg’ scores with a right hand. Lombard returns fire with a left. Another good left lands for Johny. He throws a low kick and Hector catches it and takes him down. Jonhy pops right back up but Hector has him pressed against he fence. Lombard lands a hard shot to the body as they break. Round one comes to an end.

Round two begins and Hendricks leaps in with a left. Hector tries to grab a hold of Jonhy and take him down but does not succeed. Both men land good leg kicks. Lombard lands a nice combination. Hendricks fires back with a hard left. Lombard pushes Johny against the fence. Both men land good knees but then Hector hits the groin of Johny. The ref steps in to let Hendricks recover. We restart and Lombard comes forward and lands a right and then another. Johny is retreating now. Big shots from Hector here. Johny fires back but misses. Hendricks lands a knee inside. They break and Hector lands a right. Johny fires back with a nice left. Hector circles and then comes forward with a right. Johny fires back with a left hand. Both men seem content to stand and trade in the pocket. Johny lands a good knee to the body inside and then catches Lombard with a right hook. Hector circles and lands a nice leg kick. He goes to the body with a kick and Johny just misses with a huge right. Another good knee inside from Hendricks to end round two.

Round three begins and Hector charges forward. He misses with a left but connects with a right. A good leg kick scores for Lombard. Hendricks just misses with a left hand. Both men swing wildly but miss. Hendricks with a left and Hector returns fire with a body kick. Both men exchange low kicks now. Hector feints but Johny catches him with a knee and then a left hand. Johny fakes a takedown and lands another hard knee to the body of Lombard. Hector lands a left jab. Johny with a leg kick. He lands a right jab. Lombard charges forward but cannot connect. He shoots for a takedown but Johny stuffs the attempt. Lombard with a kick to the body. Johny replies with a nice combination. Hendricks with a big left and then a knee. Lombard scores a sweep and gets Johny down. Hendricks scrambles and gets right back to his feet. Hector lands a leg kick. He follows that up with a kick to the body and then another. He misses with a left hand. Johny fires back with a right and then a low kick. Hector charges forward but time runs out.
