UFC Moscow weigh in results: Mairbek Taisumov and Jin Soo Son only two to miss weight

By Drake Riggs - September 14, 2018

The UFC’s first trip to Russia is only a day away now! But unfortunately, the short streak of weigh-ins coming with no misses has ended.

Mark-Hunt-Alexey-Oleynik

At the weigh-ins for UFC Moscow on Friday morning, all but two fighters came in on weight and ready for Saturday’s action. Those two being top lightweight prospect Mairbek Taisumov and Jin Soo Son.

Taisumov is making his highly anticipated return after being out of action since September 2017. Taisumov currently rides an ultra-impressive five-fight winning streak that consists all of victory by knockout. However, if he manages to extend his streak to six against Desmond Green it will come with an asterisk next to it.

Taisumov would weigh in well over the lightweight limit of 156-pounds at 161. As for the bantamweight division’s Son, he would weigh in at 137.

The fights will go on despite the weight misses but according to MMAJunkie, Son will be fined 20 percent of his fight purse to his opponent while Taisumov will be fined 40 percent.

Thankfully, it was all professionalism among our headliners.

In the heavyweight main event, the always heavy “Super Samoan” Mark Hunt weighed in at right at the limit of 265-pounds while his opponent Alexey Oleynik came in 30-pounds less than him at 235.

In the co-main event, Nikita Krylov makes his return to the organization as both he and Jan Blachowicz both nailed the 205-pound light heavyweight mark.
