UFC Fight Night 108 Results: Cindy Dandois vs. Alexis Davis

A women’s bantamweight scrap between Cindy Dandois and former title challenger Alexis Davis served as the featured bout of tonight’s UFC Fight Night 108 Fight Pass prelims in Nashville.

Round one begins and both women are happy to stand and trade early. Davis lands a pair of nice right hands. Cindy decides to shoot in and is able to score an early trip takedown. She begins working from the full guard of Alexis. Davis lands a couple of nice strikes from the bottom. Dandois postures up and drops down a left hand. Davis does a nice job of maintaining wrist control from the bottom. She switches to an armbar submission. She is in a good position to pull this off. She just needs to crank the arm. Cindy is able to defend the attempt but Alexis winds up in full mount. She drops down and right and then a left. Cindy grabs a hold of one of Davis’s legs and uses a heel hook submission attempt to get back to half guard. Davis starts dropping down some short left hands. She rolls for a leg lock but Cindy is not having that. Dandois winds up in top position. Alexis continues to work for a leg lock until the horn sounds to end round one.

Round two begins and the ladies trade punches to start. Cindy lands a nice inside leg kick. Alexis pushes Cindy up against the cage and works some knees. The women battle in the clinch. Cindy is able to break free. She shoots in for a takedown but it is not there. Alexis makes her pay with a nice kick to the body. They clinch up and Cindy attempts a throw. She gets it but it is Alexis who winds up on top. She lands a couple of shots from full guard and then opts to let Cindy stand back up. Davis scores with a pair of left hands. Cindy answers with a kick to the body. Another crisp left jab score for Davis. Cindy shoots in and scores with a double leg takedown. She lands a couple of good shots from the top. A pair of hard right hands find a home on Davis’ face. Alexis rolls for an armbar but the horn sounds to end round two.

Round three begins and Davis works some nice punches to start. She lands a hard left hand. Dandois shoots in and scores with a double leg takedown. Davis lands a couple of short shots from her back. Cindy postures up and lands an elbow. Davis is able to scramble and get back to her feet. Just over three minutes remain. Alexis with a left hand and then a body kick. Cindy charges forward and presses Davis against the cage. Alexis needs to get out of this position. She lands a knee. Cindy scores a trip takedown but Davis is able to scramble back to her feet. She lands a jab and then another. She goes low with a kick and then throws one that connects with the body of Dandois. Cindy looks for a takedown attempt but Alexis circles out. Davis with a left hand and then a low kick. Cindy shoots in and scores with another double leg takedown. She begins working from full guard. Alexis is able to lock in an armbar but it is not tight. The horn sounds to end round three.
