UFC on FOX 26 Bonus Report
The octagon returned to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada last night for UFC on FOX 26.
The event, which was headlined by a welterweight war between Rafael dos Anjos and Robbie Lawler, delivered with some memorable scraps and jaw-dropping finishes.
Following the conclusion of the event, UFC officials announced at the post-fight press conference that four fighters would be taking home bonuses.
Fight of the night: Julian Marquez and Darren Stewart each pocketed an extra $50k for their thrilling war which took place on the preliminary portion of the card. Marquez and Stewart put on a show for the Winnipeg crowd by standing in the pocket and trading punches in a wild back and forth affair. Marquez would eventually sink in a fight-ending guillotine choke in round two but both men were rewarded for their efforts.
Performance of the night: Alessio Di Chirico earned an extra $50k for his savage knockout of Oluwale Bamgbose. After a slow opening round, Di Chirico was able to land a devastating knee on the chin of Oluwale in round two which sent Bamgbose crashing to the canvas.
Performance of the night: Nordine Taleb improved his UFC record to 6-2 last night in Winnipeg by scoring a quick first-round knockout victory over Danny Roberts. Taleb landed a brutal head kick followed by a thundering right hand which sent his opponent crashing to the floor. The Canadian took home an extra $50k for his highlight reel finish.
If you are wondering why Josh Emmett’s destruction of Ricardo Lamas did not receive a bonus it was because the Team Alpha Male fighter unfortunately missed weight.
