A middleweight rematch between Gegard Mousasi and Uriah Hall served as the main event of today’s UFC Fight Night 99 fight card in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Round one begins and Hall misses with a high kick to start. Mousasi lands a low kick and Hall returns fire with one of his own. Another leg kick from Hall. Mousasi presses forward and Hall misses with a wild spinning kick. Gegard with a nice jab. Hall lands a hard low kick that stops Mousasi in his tracks. Gegard responds with a good leg kick of his own. He lands a huge jab on Hall. Hall launches a spinning head kick and it partially lands. Uriah follows that up with a hard leg kick. Mousasi misses with an attempted combination. Another good leg kick scores for Hall. Gegard charges forward but misses with a right hand. Hall with another low kick and then ducks under and moves away from a Mousasi counter. Gegard misses with a jab and then eats a pair of low kicks. Hall goes upstairs with a high kick that misses. Gegard charges forward and shoots for a takedown. He presses Uriah against the cage and drags him to the floor. He begins working some short right hands and a few knees to the body. Big shots from Mousasi from the top and this one is over!

A lightweight bout between Ross Pearson and Steven Ray served as the co-main event of today’s UFC Fight Night 99 fight card in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Round one begins and Pearson immediately comes forward with pressure. Ray is circling trying to find his range. The fighters exchange low kicks. Ray lands a nice straight left. He circles away and catches Ross with a kick coming in. Pearson with a lot of forward pressure here but Ray is circling well and is landing some nice low kicks on his veteran opponent. Pearson returns fire with a nice low kick of his own. Ray with a beautiful body kick in return. He goes high with a follow up kick. Ross returns fire with a nice body kick. The fighters briefly clinch and Ray lands a knee. They break and Pearson lands a low kick. Steven presses forward and lands a kick to the body. He shoots in and picks Ross up, carries him across the cage and slams him down. Ross bounces back up to his feet and the fighters break. Round one comes to an end.

A heavyweight tilt between Timothy Johnson and Alexander Volkov took place on today’s UFC Fight Night 99 main card in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Round one begins and Volkov immediately presses forward and lands a right. Johnson circles away but Alexander quickly follows up and throws a knee to the body. Volkov presses forward with a combination that lands. He presses Timothy against the cage and begins working some big uppercuts inside. Johnson grabs a hold of an arm and looks for a kimura. The fighters break from the cage and Johnson lands a massive uppercut that drops Alexander. Timothy rushes in with some ground and pound a Volkov is in all sorts of trouble. Alexander is surviving here but eating some big shots from Johnson. Tim is working from full guard now. Volkov is able to wall-walk and get back to his feet. He presses Johnson against the fence and works some short shots. Round one comes to an end.

Round one begins and Ishihara misses with a high kick to start. Teruto follows that up with a body kick that grazes Lobov. Artem is applying the forward pressure here. He misses with a wild right hand and then eats a low kick. Ishihara with a jab to the body that lands. He follows that up with back-to-back leg kicks. Lobov misses with a left hook. Teruto with another low kick that lands. Lobov continues with the forward pressure and lands a left hand. Teruto circles away. The Japanese fighter misses with a body kick. Lobov lands a right hand and then stuffs a takedown attempt from Teruto. Lobov lands a right hand and then another. Ishihara fires back with a low kick. Artem presses forward and misses with a left hook. Teruto with a jab that misses upstairs but he lands a follow up strike to the body. Artem responds with a jab. He lands a leg kick. Teruto fires back with a leg kick of his own. Artem charges forward and lands a right. Teruto responds with another leg kick. Artem presses forward and lands a big right. Lobov with a left and Teruto looks hurt. He lands a big body kick and round one comes to an end.

The main event of tonight’s UFC 205 fight card in New York city featured a lightweight title fight between current 155-pound champion Eddie Alvarez (28-4) and current UFC featherweight title holder Conor McGregor (20-3). Round one begins and Alvarez presses forward and lands a leg kick. He scores another. Conor presses forward and misses with a left. Eddie with another leg kick. McGregor with a front kick to the body. Alvarez presses forward and eats a massive left. He drops. Conor presses forward and lands some punches. Eddie bounces back and throws a head kick. Alvarez charges forward but eats another left hand. Conor with a high kick that is blocked. He lands another left that drops Alvarez. Conor jumps on top. He begins working from side control. Eddie gets back to guard. Conor with a big shot. Eddie scrambles and gets back to his feet. He is still on wobbly legs. Eddie with a right hand. Conor responds with a front kick. Eddie with a leg kick in return. Conor is applying pressure. He lands a left. Eddie throws a high kick and then lands a shot to the body. Conor with a left but Eddie returns fire with a right. Round one comes to an end.

The welterweight title was on the line in the co-main event of tonight’s UFC 205 fight card in New York as champion Tyron Woodley (16-3-1) took on top contender Stephen Thompson (13-1-1). Round one begins and Thompson misses with a leg kick to start. He takes the center of the octagon. Woodley is circling trying to find a way inside. Thompson with a wheel kick. It misses. Stephen throws a high kick that is blocked. ‘Wonderboy’ is utilizing some forward pressure. He lands a leg kick but Tyron catches it and grabs the takedown. Woodley immediately moves to half guard. Two minutes remain in the round. Thompson is looking to stand up but Woodley flattens him back out. Big shots to the body from T-Wood. He drops a couple of big elbows. More body shots from Woodley. One minute remains. ‘Wonderboy’ is able to position back to full guard. Woodley stands up and lands some big shots. First to the body and then to the head. Thompson is busted open. Round one comes to an end.

UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk (13-0) put her title on the line against undefeated challenger Karolina Kowalkiewicz (10-1) during tonight’s UFC 205 main card in New York city. Round one begins and Karolina begins the forward pressure to start. Joanna lands a jab to the body. She follows up with a low kick. Karolina with a right hand. Joanna responds with a nice combo. Karolina with the forward pressure she lands a leg kick and then charges forward with punches. A beautiful combination from Joanna scores. Karolina replies with a right. Joanna answers with an inside leg kick. She lands another low kick. Karolina presses forward but misses with her combo. Joanna circles away and lands a kick to the body. The fighters clinch and Karolina presses JJ against the fence. Joanna lands a knee and breaks free. Karolina misses with a right hand but lands an elbow. Round one comes to an end.

A women’s bantamweight scrap between former champion Miesha Tate (18-7) and Raquel Pennington (9-5) kicked off tonight’s UFC 205 fight card in New York. Round one begins and Tate starts things off with left. They exchange quickly. Miesha with a low kick. She follows up with a right. Pennington counters with a strike. Tate circles and lands an inside leg kick. Pennington with a right hook and then a jab. She lands another. She is applying pressure. Miesha with an inside leg kick. A nice leg kick and then a jab scores for Raquel. Miesha is already busted up. She pushes forward. Raquel lands an uppercut. Miesha presses her against the cage and begins looking for a takedown. She attempts a double leg. Raquel defends and locks in a guillotine choke. It is deep. Miesha wall walks on multiple occasions to survive the choke. Wow. Miesha Tate scores the takedown after all of that. Pennington scoots to the cage in attempt to wall-walk. She is able to get back to her feet. Miesha is on her back though. She is attempting to take the back of Pennington along the fence here. Pennington drops down for a submission and the horn sounds to end round one.

A key featherweight tilt between former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar (21-5-1) and knockout artist Jeremy Stephens (25-13) served as the featured bout of tonight’s UFC 205 prelims in New York. Round one begins and Stephens throws a left jab to start. He misses with a leg kick. Frankie is utilizing his fantastic footwork early. He shoots for a takedown but Jeremy stuffs the attempt. “Lil Heathen” with a nice leg kick. Edgar again shoots in for a takedown but it is not there. Good start for Stephens. Frankie pumps a double jab and then throws a leg kick. Jeremy just misses with a knee. Frankie shoots in for another takedown attempt but once again Stephens defends. Frankie has a single leg and uses it to pick Stephens up and slam him down. Jeremy pops right back up. Edgar is still all over him though. Jeremy breaks free and takes the center of the octagon. He lands a nice kick to the body. Edgar with a jab but misses with a follow up leg kick. Stephens returns fire with a head kick that misses. A nice jab scores for Frankie. Jeremy misses with a front kick. A nice right hand lands for Stephens. Frankie with a jab. Round one comes to an end.

A key lightweight tilt between Khabib Nurmagomedov (24-0) and Michael Johnson (18-11) took place during tonight’s UFC 205 preliminary fight card in New York city. Round one begins and Johnson misses with a left hook to start. Khabib presses forward but eats an uppercut. He backs off and Johnson comes forward with a right. Michael lands a nice leg kick. He follows that up with a left hook. Another leg kick and a left from Johnson. “The Menace” lands a pair of jabs to the body. Johnson goes upstairs and rocks Khabib. Nurmagomedov presses forward and shoots in for a takedown. He eventually gets it and moves immediately to side control. He secures a mounted crucifix. Johnson scrambles and gets his arm free. Khabib remains in side control and delivers some short shots. Johnson battles his way to half guard. Big elbows from the top by Nurmagomedov. He switches to punches and begins teeing off. Johnson is scrambling but he cannot escape the position. Huge shots from the top by Khabib. He moves to full mount. Huge shots from Khabib. These left hands are hard. More big shots. This fight is close to being stopped. Johnson survives to see round two.

A middleweight scrap between seasoned veterans Tim Boetsch (20-10) and Rafael Natal (21-8-1) took place on tonight’s UFC 205 prelims in New York. Round one begins and Boetsch presses forward and throws a right hand. He follows that up with a front kick that misses. Boetsch is really coming forward here. He gets caught with a counter left but eats it. Tim with a right hand and Natal is now bleeding. Natal shoots in but Tim defends and lands another right hand. Natal is circling away as Tim continues his relentless forward pressure. A nice leg kick scores for Boetsch. He misses with a follow up front kick. Natal misses with a wild right hand. Tim counters with a left. Natal circles away and lands a body kick. Boetsch comes forward and catches Natal with a bomb of a right hand. Rafael drops and Tim follows up with some ground and pound and this one is all over!

Round one begins and Miller presses forward and lands a jab. He follows that up with a leg kick. Jim pressing the action here and lands a jab upstairs and then one to the mid section. Alves lands a nice counter. He misses with a wild right. Miller comes forward and lands a nice straight left. Alves fires back with a kick to the body. Both men land jabs. Miller lands a left. Thiago goes upstairs with a kick but it is caught. Miller uses that to score a takedown. He begins working from full guard. Jim tries to take the back of Alves but Thiago scrambles and gets back to his feet. Miller lands a nice right. Alves with a kick to the body. Miller fires back with a hard low kick. The fighters trade punches. Miller with rights and Thiago with lefts. Alves goes for a high kick but it is blocked. Round one comes to an end.

A women’s bantamweight bout between Liz Carmouche (11-5) and Katlyn Chookagian (8-1) kicked off tonight’s historic UFC 205 fight card at Madison Square Garden in New York. Round one begins and Liz comes out with a combination that misses. Chookagian is circling and pumping her jab. She lands a nice leg kick. She attempts another but misses. Liz lands a heavy leg kick. She comes forward and lands a push kick. Chookagian returns fire with back-to-back leg kicks. Carmouche fires backs with a leg kick of her own. Both fighters land jabs. Liz lands a nice kick to the body and then a jab. She lands a nice right hand. Liz presses forward and shoots in for a takedown. She gets it. Liz with some decent shots from the top. Katlyn is able to wall-walk and get back to her feet. Still, Carmouche is all over Katlyn. She lifts up Chookagian and slams her back down to the floor. Nice short elbows from the top by Carmouche. Round one comes to an end.

UFC Fight Night 98 took place last night in Mexico City, Mexico. The event delivered in a big way for fight fans as it showcased a bunch of solid finishes as well as a wildly entertaining main event war between lightweights Tony Ferguson and Rafael dos Anjos.

On last night’s UFC Fight Night 98 main card in Mexico City, former featherweight title challenger Ricardo Lamas picked up a second-round submission victory over Charles Oliveira. Lamas was cheered on not only by the fans in attendance, but most of his fellow fighters and fans watching around the world, this after Charles Oliveira had unprofessionally missed weight by a whopping 10-pounds.

Tony Ferguson scored the biggest win of his mixed martial arts career last night in Mexico City, as he defeated former division title holder Rafael dos Anjos in the main event of UFC Fight Night 98 via unanimous decision. The five-round main event tilt was nothing short of thrilling, but in the end it was clear that Ferguson had done enough to outpoint “RDA” on the judges scorecards.

Round one begins and Ferguson opens things up with a leg kick. RDA replies with a solid leg kick of his own. Ferguson tries to go upstairs with a kick but it is blocked. RDA with another big leg kick and another. He shoots in but Ferguson shrugs him off. Tony misses with a jab. Another big leg kicks from dos Anjos. Tony lands a jab. RDA with a huge left hand counter shot. Tony lands an elbow inside. A nice combination from Rafael. Tony circles away. RDA moving forward now. He lands another big left. A huge leg kick drops Tony. That was just nasty. Rafael begins working from full guard. He lands an elbow. Tony stands back up but eats a left hand. RDA with a stiff jab and then a leg kick. Another hard leg kick scores for RDA. Tony fires back with one of his own. RDA is applying pressure now. He just misses with a left. Dos Anjos with a spinning back fist. Tony responds with a leg kick and round one comes to an end.
