UFC 200 Results: Amanda Nunes submits Miesha Tate in round 1

UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate (18-6 MMA) put her title on the line for the first time against top contender Amanda Nunes (13-4 MMA) in the main event of UFC 200.

Round one begins and Tate takes the center of the octagon. Nunes with a nice leg kick. Both fighters land left hands. Nunes with a leg kick but Tate takes it and lands a takedown. Amanda immediately gets back to her feet. Nunes with a nice jab. She just misses Tate with a knee. Nunes with a couple of really nice jabs. She is peppering Miesha. Tate is backing up in defense mode. Huge shots from Nunes. She is all over Tate. A big knee lands. Amanda with another combination. She takes Tate down and gets her back. Hammer fists from Nunes. She sinks in both hooks and submits Tate with a rear-naked choke.
