UFC 204 Bonus Report

By Chris Taylor - October 9, 2016

Last night’s UFC 204 event in Manchester, England, delivered some memorable fights and a whopping nine finishes.

Jimi Manuwa

With that said, UFC President Dana White handed out four “Performance of the night” awards at yesterday’s UFC 204 post-fight press conference.

Those $50,000 ‘UFC 204’ bonuses went to the following fighters:

Performance of the night bonus – Iuri Alcantara pocketed an extra $50,000 for his first-round destruction of Brad Pickett. Iuri was able to drop Pickett with strikes and then promptly began to work on submission attempts on the ground. Eventually, Alcantara would secure a fight-ending triangle choke which forced Brad to tapout (watch that here).

Performance of the night bonus –
Jimi Manuwa earned a “performance of the night bonus” for his impressive knockout victory over Ovince Saint Preux (watch that here). After landing some brutal hooks to the body of his opponent, Manuwa went upstairs with a left hand that sent “OSP” crashing to the canvas. The nasty KO finish vaults “The Poster Boy” right back up to the top end of the 205-pound division.

Fight of the night bonus – Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson each pocketed an extra $50k for their main event title fight. “Hendo” was able to rock “The Count” with an “H-Bomb” in the opening round that sent Bisping crashing to the floor. However, Michael was able to survive Henderson’s early onslaught, which featured some nasty ground and pound, and make it to the second round. Bisping found success for the better portion of round two before he again ate a “Hendo” right hand that had him in all sorts of trouble. Again Bisping was able to survive and make it to round three. The final three rounds of the fight were be controlled by Bisping, who was able to outpoint Dan on route to decision victory. (See the highlights from Bisping vs. Henderson 2 here).
