After close UFC 231 loss to Elias Theodorou, Eryk Anders says he’s ‘gonna keep it in America’ for now
Last Saturday night, on the undercard of UFC 231 in Toronto, Eryk Anders got his long-awaited fight with Canada’s Elias Theodorou. While Anders had Theodorou visibly hurt in the second round — perhaps even enough to justify a 10-8 score — Theodorou was ultimately awarded a split decision win on the basis of his success his success in the first and third frames.
While Eryk Anders has been classy in the wake of this loss, he recently announced his intention to fight in America for his next few fights, where he’s less likely to face any sort of judging bias.
I truly felt more prepared for this fright than any other. Mos def could have done more, but it is what it is. See you fuckers next time. Gonna keep it in America for the next few tho 🤷🏾♂️.

With this close decision loss to Elias Theodorou, Eryk Anders slips onto a two-fight skid, having recently been stopped in a short-notice light heavyweight fight with Brazilian juggernaut Thiago Santos. These losses were preceded by a thrilling knockout defeat of Tim Williams. The former football player is now 11-3 overall.
Theodorou, meanwhile, is currently on a three-fight streak, having also recently bested Trevor Smith and Dan Kelly, both by decision. Now 16-2, he has not lost since a July 2017 decision defeat to Brad Tavares.
