Alexander Gustafsson reacts to Jon Jones being denied license in Nevada, UFC 232 move

While news broke that Jon Jones had been denied a license to fight in Nevada, his opponent Alexander Gustafsson was busy enjoying a helicopter ride around the Grand Canyon.

That news came from ESPN’s Ariel Helwani on Twitter:

“Alexander Gustafsson, who is scheduled to fight Jon Jones in 6 days, has been in Las Vegas for a week and, according to sources, is on a four-hour helicopter ride right now around the Grand Canyon. If he doesn’t have cell reception there is a very good chance he doesn’t know.”

When Gustafsson landed and caught word of the news that his rematch with Jones had been moved from Las Vegas to The Forum in Los Angeles – this due to a suspect drug test result from the former champion – “The Mauler” was obviously not impressed.

Alexander Gustafsson released the following statement on social media:

“Now we all understand why u didn’t take the Wada test! U can be on rocket fuel,, I’ll still gonna finish u Jon!”

The star Swede was not the only fighter to take aim at Jon Jones following tonight’s rather shocking news.

Jones’ bitter rival Daniel Cormier also took to social media to blast “Bones”.

After responding to “DC”, Jon Jones would issue a lengthy statement on his official Twitter account (see that here).
