Ali Abdelaziz unsure why Conor McGregor thinks he deserves a rematch

At UFC 229, Conor McGregor made his long-awaited return to the Octagon when he took on undisputed lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. Ultimately, the two years off of MMA looked to prove costly as Nurmagomedov defeated McGregor relatively easily by fourth-round submission.

However, following the fight, McGregor has pleaded for a rematch against Nurmagomedov. Ali Abdelaziz, Nurmagomedov’s manager, seemed to shut down the idea of a Nurmagomedov vs. McGregor 2.

“He’s talking about a rematch and stuff like that,” Abdelaziz told TMZ. “He quit, how are you going to give this guy a rematch? He’s a bitch.”

There is definitely bad blood between McGregor and Abdelaziz after McGregor asked him ‘Where’s Noah?’ at a press conference. Nonetheless, it was more than that, it was the attacks on the religion and the family that Abdelaziz has a problem with.

“You know what makes me mad more than anything?” asked Abdelaziz. “Not that he talked about me or talked about Khabib. Stuff like that, I brush it off. But you talk all of this stuff and the third round comes and you come to me and tell me ‘it’s business,’ that’s a ho.

“Like I said it before, he’s a prostitute and he’s still a prostitute. I definitely haven’t changed my mind.”

Even though Abdelaziz doesn’t think McGregor deserves a rematch, doesn’t mean it won’t happen. The fight is hyped up even more by the melee that happened following the fight. Not only was it a fight for the belt, but it also broke the pay-per-view record for the UFC and all signs point to a rematch doing just as good or better than the first. So, put all this together and you can see why Abdelaziz may be interested in the rematch for money purposes for Nurmagomedov.

“Whatever brings Khabib money, I’m going to do,” said Abdelaziz. “I’m not fighting. He’s fighting. Whatever he wants to do, I will try to the best of my ability to get it done.”
