Amanda Nunes expects Holly Holm to be at her best, but she feels prepared for her next challenger.

Nunes is a UFC “champ-champ.” She holds the UFC women’s bantamweight and women’s featherweight gold. She’ll put her 135-pound title on the line against Holm in the co-main event of UFC 239 on July 6. It’ll be Nunes’ fourth bantamweight title defense.

ESPN’s Brett Okamoto caught up with Nunes ahead of UFC 239. “The Lioness” said that while she believes Holm’s game doesn’t change, “The Preacher’s Daughter” is not to be taken lightly:

“Honestly, I feel like Holly’s the same every fight. She never changes. She’s this fighter, she’s gonna end up with this style. But I feel like people underestimated her. They make a lot of mistakes because of that. Because ‘oh she no punch hard. Oh her kick is not gonna knock me out.’ No, she’s dangerous. I know that, I know she’ll be able to really knock you out if she gets the right timing.

“This is my thing, I’m not gonna let [her] find my timing. The biggest thing is people underestimated her and they got caught up in that and [lost] the fight against her. But I know Holly’s good, I know she’s gonna bring it. She wanted my belt, she’s gonna come for the belt. I have to be ready for everything and I am. I know everything she’s gonna do to get my belt. And I’m gonna be ready.”

Holm is a former UFC women’s bantamweight champion. She knocked out Ronda Rousey via head kick back in Nov. 2015 at UFC 193 to capture the gold. She has gone 2-4 since that historic victory over “Rowdy.” This will be Holm’s fifth championship bout under the UFC banner.
