VIDEO | Amanda Nunes says “never again” to 145

By Tom Taylor - January 14, 2019

At UFC 232, UFC bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes moved up to the featherweight division on a quest to defeat the seemingly unbeatable Cris Cyborg and become one of just three fighters in UFC history to hold titles in two weight classes concurrently.

In an absolutely jaw-dropping performance, Amanda Nunes succeeded on this mission, mauling Cyborg to a first-round knockout victory.

In the wake of this win, the expectation was that Nunes would begin actively defending both of her UFC titles. If a recent Tweet from the two-division champ is to be taken literally, however, she’s done with the featherweight division.

Of course, it’s very clear that she’s just joking around.

In this Tweet, Nunes shared a hilarious video of herself attempting to squeeze into a pair of jeans that are evidently a little too small for a featherweight. See this funny video from the UFC’s newest champ-champ below:

With her victory over Cris Cyborg, Amanda Nunes moved onto a seven-fight win streak.

Prior to winning the featherweight title, Nunes defended the bantamweight belt three times, turning away Raquel Pennington, Valentina Shevchenko, and Ronda Rousey. She won the title with a first-round submission of Miesha Tate in the main event of the landmark UFC 200 card in 2016.

While nothing is certain just yet, it’s been widely speculated that Cris Cyborg will be granted an immediate rematch with Amanda Nunes on the basis of her previous dominance — perhaps even as soon as UFC 237, which goes down on May 11 in Brazil.

What do you think the future holds for the new champ-champ Amanda Nunes?
