Ben Askren trolls Darren Till, Jorge Masvidal ahead of UFC London

By Tom Taylor - March 11, 2019

This weekend, in the main event of the stacked UFC London card on ESPN+, Jorge Masvidal and Darren Till will collide in a crucial welterweight contender fight. It’s looking increasingly likely that the winner of this fight will then be pitted against former ONE and Bellator champ Ben Askren.

Ben Askren

Askren, no stranger to trash talk, has been laying the foundation for this potential matchup over the last few weeks. On Monday, he continued to do so, taking a shot at both Till and Masvidal in an incendiary Tweet.

“I know I have been picking in [Darren Till] a lot, but [Jorge Masvidal] I think you suck too,” Askren said. “Best of luck Saturday guys.”

Ben Askren will be a guest fighter for this UFC London card, meaning he’s more than likely to get some face time in with both Till and London on the ground in The Big Smoke. Suffice it to say that things could get interesting.

As Askren mentions above, he’s tended to lean towards Till when he’s made predictions for this fight in the past. At least, most of his trash talk has targeted Till rather than Masvidal.

“Hey [Darren Till] now that there isn’t much standing between us, I don’t see your loose gums flapping,” Askren wrote on Twitter shortly after he defeated Robbie Lawler in his UFC debut. “See you in London, sucka!”

“Ben, your performance was shit,” the former welterweight title challenger Till wrote in response. “You barely won. You are ugly as fuck. That chin is too big not to miss. You have no respect for no one. Ohh… did I say you were a curly headed fuck? See you in London muppet!”

The key detail that the recent back-and-forth between Ben Askren and Darren Till ignores, of course, is that Jorge Masvidal might win in London.

Do you think we’ll see Askren fight the Till vs. Masvidal winner? How do you think he’d do against these two established UFC welterweights?
