Bobby Green rips “amateur fighter” Paddy Pimblett, says it would be “disrespectful” if they are in the same cage: “He doesn’t belong”
Bobby Green doesn’t think Paddy Pimblett would accept a fight with him, but if he did, he says the scrap would not be close.
After Pimblett beat Jared Gordon at UFC 282, many wondered who would be next for the Brit. A popular name was Green who is set to face Drew Dober on Saturday at UFC Vegas 66. Yet, Green doesn’t think highly of Pimblett and believes he would beat him with ease.
“Paddy would never take that fight, Paddy would never take that fight, okay. I know for a fact he would never take the fight,” Green said to Eurosport. “He doesn’t have enough skills to even dance with me. It would actually be disrespect if they put him in there with me. I’d have to get rid of him really fast because it would be disrespectful if we are in the same cage. He doesn’t even belong there, I actually think he’s an amateur fighter, he’s not even a professional, he’s an amateur.”
Although Bobby Green doesn’t think Paddy Pimblett would take the fight, he says if he somehow did accept, Green would be happy to take the bout. He thinks it would be an easy payday as well as something fun for him to do.
“Of course, I would take it, I would take the easy money. At the same time, it wouldn’t do anything for my brand after I did it,” Green said. “It would be like, well he was supposed to. It wouldn’t do anything for me but I’d do it for shits and giggles.”
Bobby Green (29-13-1) is coming off a TKO loss to Islam Makhachev back in February in a fight he took on short notice. Prior to that, he beat Nasrat Haqparast by decision and scored a TKO win over Al Iaquinta.
