Dustin Poirier received a message from former opponent Conor McGregor shortly following his thrilling UFC 236 victory over Max Holloway.

“Mystic Mac” took to Twitter shortly following Poirier’s thrilling five-round decision victory over “Blessed” with the following statement.

“Amazing main event fights. How fighting should be! Max you are insanely tough! Please rest up now young Uce, you are a warrior head to toe! A champion FOREVER. Congratulations Dustin on a much deserved UFC title to your career. It is Nate next for you like previously scheduled.” – Conor McGregor

While Conor McGregor was very complimentary of both Holloway and Poirier in his post, it is clear that the Irish star is still fixated on getting an immediate rematch with Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Following Porier’s unanimous decision victory, UFC President Dana White told media that “The Diamond” was next for the undefeated Russian, Nurmagomedov.

However, if Conor McGregor gets his way we will see Dustin Poirier take on Nate Diaz, while he gets another crack at his bitter rival Khabib.

Diaz and Poirier were initially slated to fight at November’s UFC 230 event in New York, but that bout fell through for multiple reasons.

Meanwhile, Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov met at UFC 229 with “The Eagle” emerging victorious by way of fourth round submission.
